Vivacity, the soon to be launched Maharashtra’s largest mall announced that its two anchor

tenants would be the Raheja Group owned Shoppers Stop, and Hypercity, the hypermarket chain. Whilst Shoppers Stop will be housed in 85,000 sq. ft., Hypercity will occupy 65,000 sq. ft. area.

Expected to open in 2011, Vivacity is located on the Eastern Express Highway in Thane and spread over an area on 1 million sq. ft. The mall is the first retail venture of Sheth Developers. It currently has 37 per cent occupancy and expects 100 per cent by early 2011.

For Shoppers Stop, Vivacity is the opportunity the department store was looking for in the emerging affluent suburban market of Thane. No wonder, Govind Shrikhande, Customer Care Associate and President and CEO feels Vivacity has filled in the gap perfectly for them. He says Vivacity will be a dominant retail property in the Central suburbs. The size and expanse of the mall combined with Shoppers Stop’s ability to pull customers will be vital to the success of both.

Hypercity too is enthusiastic about its presence in this mall as Thane and its catchment areas stand for massive potential. Vivacity will be Hypercity’s second outlet in Thane.  B S Nagesh, Customer Care Associate and Vice Chairman of Hypercity Retail said, “The strategic location of Vivacity and its ease of access is ideal for a hypermarket.” Vivacity is readying itself to provide a world class shopping experience to residents of the area and beyond, with its impressive line-up of premium and popular brands.
