Shoppers Stop Vice President, Vivek Mathur, has quit the
company to start an e-commerce platform along with Ashish Chandani. Called Giftease.com, the company would offer merchandise and experiences in the gifting space via offline and online model. Based out of Pune, the company will launch its online business in the next few weeks.Giftease also plans to open gifting stores in the malls in all metros of India and will enrich customer experience in the gifting space in the country. Its first store would be launched in the Phoenix Market City Pune shortly. The web platform has gifts under different categories including occasions, men, women, kids, home and family. It also has a gift finder where customers can find gifts based on occasion, recipient and price range.
The website claims to deliver products in over 5,000 locations across India and accepts payment via net banking, Visa credit and debit cards, American Express credit cards and Giftease credit points. The website also offers a 15 day gift exchange policy and free and easy returns through courier pickup from most locations, wherein a customer doesn’t have to bear any courier shipping charges for returning the purchased products.
Giftease is in competition with other gifting portals like Indiangiftsportal.com, Indiangiftguru.com, Giftstoindia.com, Giftthebasket.com and 143gifts.com among others.
