Wedding, formal wear showcase by Shyamal & Bhumika

Designers Shyamal and Bhumika recently held an

exclusive showcase featuring models in traditional bridal gowns and formalwear in New York and New Jersey. The designers attracted more than 800 fashion lovers from the tri-state area and other surrounding states to the three-day event at Studio Arte in New York and the Renaissance Hotel in Iselin, New Jersey. The special edition of wedding, festive and formalwear collections for men and women was a highlight of their collection. They symbolized authority in colors, cuts and embellishments, with embroidery inspired by heritage architecture and carvings. The creations were reminiscent of the grandeur of Mughal courts, presenting the finery of fabrics crafted with finesse.

Shyamal and Bhumika coordinated women’s wear with men’s ensembles, recreating a couple-dressing concept that used to be part of the royal ‘Durbaars’. Prices of outfits ranged from 200 dollars (Rs 10,954) to 5,000 dollars (over Rs 2,70,000). The event was the designer duo’s second after a successful fashion showcase in Somerset, New Jersey last October. Showcases were also held in Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia during their visit to the US earlier in March.

Shyamal and Bhumika’s collection is on display at their store in Ahmedabad. They have also launched a boutique, featuring a range of women’s and men’s exclusive clothing in New Jersey.
