Weekender, the Bangalore-based apparel brand, plans

to launch 200 stores across 80 cities by 2012. These stores will be a mix of both company owned and franchised. The company that was acquired by Primus Retail, a leading small format retail chain in 2007 has now moved from being a mass-priced to a mass-premium brand with an average price point of Rs 800 (as opposed to Rs 600 earlier). Six months back, the company remodeled the brand in order to cater to the whole family. Weekender also operates through 40 shop-in-shops at department stores such as Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop and Central. Their target is to take this count up to 100 in the next 18 months.

Meanwhile, Weekender has brought out a fashionable range of T-shirts for their young Ishaan fans this festive season. The new range of T-shirts has been launched in association with Disney Channel. Ishaan is a popular tween musical drama of Disney Channel. Weekender Kids, launched in 1992, is an exclusive kidswear brand targeted at 2 to 12-year-olds. It offers trendy kidswear and is currently available across the country in over 40 exclusive stores and premier multibrand outlets.
