Footwear and apparel brand Woodland plans to add 11 new

stores in Gujarat by March 2013. It already has operational 25 stores in Gujarat, and adding of new stores will take the total number of stores to 36 in the state. In Ahmedabad, it already has eight stores and the company recently opened a new showroom in the city, its biggest store in Western India, with two more in the pipeline this fiscal.

The new stores are being planned in various cities of Gujarat, which, apart from Ahmedabad, include Rajkot, Vadodara, Surat, Nadiad, Ankleshwar, Vapi and Palanpur. Woodland is planning to turn these stores operational by March 2013. Apart from Gujarat, the company is planning to add 60 new stores across India by the end of current fiscal. Of these, 25 have already been made operational.

Currently, Woodland has 350 stores in India. It clocked a turnover of Rs 700 crores in 2011-12 and expects to achieve Rs 800 crores turnover in fiscal 2012-13. Aero Club-promoted apparels and footwear will also spread its presence in Hong Kong by adding 25 multi-brand stores to its network apart from venturing into China. The company already has a presence in around 100 multi-brand stores in the Middle East.
