Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh signed up as the brand ambassador
for Oakley. Oakley is the industry leader in sport-specific eyewear, sponsoring professional athletes in over two dozen sports internationally. A Californian-based brand formed in 1977, Oakley is an innovation-driven designer manufacturer and distributor of consumer products that include high-performance eyewear, footwear, watches, apparel and accessories. Hailing from Chandigarh, Yuvraj has amassed more than 7,500 runs over the course of his One Day International (ODI) career to date. He has represented India in 34 Tests and is most remembered for his six sixes in an over off England`s Stuart Broad in the ICC World Cup 20-20 Championship in 2007. Heading into the 2011 ICC World Cup, Yuvraj will rely on his favorite Oakley design, Radar sunglasses, for the optimized levels of comfort, protection and clarity. Yuvraj has collaborated with Oakley designers on his first Signature Series sunglasses.In India the brand is known for its India Colors fuel cell sunglasses. It’s one of the top 30 lifestyle brands in the world. Each of these sunglasses comes in a specially designed micro bag bearing motifs of traditional Indian art forms of warli and alpana. The Oakley Radar is a single lens sports design that enables the wearer to change the lens in seconds and match their vision to light conditions. In 2004 Oakley introduced the world’s first digital music eyewear containing a MP3 player. The frames of the glasses are made with materials like acetate, magnesium, aluminum alloy and titanium alloy. Plutonite lenses are used in all the Oakley sunglasses. It features impact protection and integral ability to block all forms of UV and blue light. Lexan lenses are used for goggles.
