Zara debuts in Surat

Zara, the flagship brand of the Inditex Group has opened its first store in Surat,

Gujarat. Spread over 2,250 square foot, the store is located at VF Surat displaying all Fall/Winter 2013-14 collections of the brand for men, women and kids. Zara is the first international brand in India to have reported robust profits in a short span.

Zara is among the handful of fashion brands that has defied the trend of consumers cutting back on their discretionary spends as shoppers continue to throng to its stores. Following Zara’s success, other global fast fashion retailers like Sweden’s H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M) and Japan’s Uniqlo are also planning to launch their operations in India. While Zara's products are branded as Zara Man, Zara Woman and TRF, the more causal line of clothing, Inditex-owned Massimo Dutti, which recently got a nod to enter India also has different brands of products for men and women.

With this store, Zara now has 14 stores across India including Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Pune, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Chennai and now in Surat. Present in 86 markets across the globe, Zara now has a network of 1752 stores.
