Last July, Bread & Butter announced its international 'Grand Slam,' and aimed to moved the trade to Barcelona for its winter edition to take place from January 8 to 10, 2015. Karl-Heinz-Müller aimed to have the Barcelona trade show began the season, whilst returning to its former location in Fira de Barcelona.
Bread & Bread remains in Berlin
However it seems to be that industry did not seem to embrace this news, with many brands doubtful about the new location and date as other trade fair organizations vented their anger at Karl-Heinz-Müller for disrupting the order of the upcoming trade shows. Other regular exhibitors at Bread & Butter were unwilling to travel to Barcelona.“Various discussions with the decision makers of our industry made clear that people rather want to stick to the current format. Most exhibitors of course have the healthy and safe German market in focus. Therefore we follow the call of our industry and stay on our common grounds at former airport Berlin-Tempelhof,” said Karl-Heinz Müller to Sportswear International.
“Bread & Butter is going to take place simultaneously with the other Berlin trade shows from January 19-21, 2015.” The cancellation of Bread & Butter has yet to be formerly announced by the trade show, however on its Facebook page the trade show already has details for its Berlin winter edition lined up as the next upcoming event.
The news comes not long after Karl-Heinz Müller was in the media spotlight for first announcing the addition of consumers days during Bread & Butter previous summer edition, and then cancelling the extra days open to consumers, after being hit with a wave of back lash from the industry.
