The biggest achievement for the brand till date is a steady year-on-year growth of 20-22 per cent in the bottom wear segment.”
Launched
as a regional brand in 1991 from eastern India, Camaro soon spread its reach in the states of West Bengal, Orissa, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand , Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Mumbai (Maharashtra), Karnataka and Goa. “We work through 1,000 MBOs spread across the states and this year, we will open four exclusive outlets beginning with UP, Assam and Andhra Pradesh,” they say elaborating on their retail expansion plans. Adding further, they say, “To begin with the EBOs will be company-owned later on we will look for franchises. We also plan to expand into international markets beginning with East Asian countries under our own brand label apart from getting into lucrative e-commerce space very soon.”
With an ultra-modern, cut-to-pack production unit based in Mumbai and a capacity of producing 700 pieces of denim/trousers per day, Camaro has also introduced a knits collection to complement its denim range with the complete manufacturing set-up from fabric to the finished product. “We make denim, casual trousers, T-shirts and a negligible amount of casual blazers. T-shirts is just one and a half years old but it’s a huge category for us. Now, we have ventured into women’s denim. Last season, we introduced it in Mumbai followed by Andhra Pradesh and Chhatisgarh. Next, we wish to be in Karnataka and Goa covering the southern as well as the eastern part by end of this year,” they add.
