Popular apparel brand Cantabil has introduced a new brand Kaneston for both men and women. Kaneston has premium products made of 100 per cent cotton and two ply fabrics. Cantabil will also introduce its autumn/winter collection with a variety

of jackets and pullovers for men and women. The women’s range includes pieces such as a corduroy jacket with knitted lining, fleece hooded sweatshirts, formal suits and much more. The men’s range will include pieces such as a high-neck jacket with self-structured fabrics, suits and blazers, pullovers and pre-winter products. Moreover the brand is planning to launch a full range of undergarments for men.

Cantabil started its journey in 2001 with retailing and manufacturing of menswear and gradually got into women’s and kids’ wear. The brand targets customers in the middle segment 25 years and above. It has a huge product portfolio for men, women and kids. Men have shirts, trousers, denims, T-shirts, suits, blazers and pullovers. There are pre-winter products. “We are making western wear for women. Our MRPs are from Rs 999 to Rs 9,999. Our range suits every taste and pocket,” says Vijay Bansal, Chairman & Managing Director, Cantabil Retail India. Bansal believes that shirts have a major share in the sales figure of any company which focuses on this category. “We use premium fabrics and incorporate the latest international trends while making shirts. This helps us face the competition,” says Bansal. In shirts, the brand offers formal, casual and club wear. “We are offering different fits and styles as per fashion,” adds Bansal.

Anyone in the fashion industry has to introduce the latest fashion inputs and use premium fabric to attract consumers. As Bansal explains, “Innovation in terms of colors, styles, fits and fashion elements are required to woo customers. And if the product is excellent, customers don’t mind paying more.” Presently the brand is present only in the EBO format. Cantabil has 330 EBOs across the country but is not very keen on opening more. “If we get a good deal, then we may. Right now our focus is on rebranding. We are trying to make our stores more profitable and shutting down or relocating non-viable stores,” says Bansal. Cantabil went public this year and became a listed company. With a turnover of Rs 186 crores the brand is looking for Rs 500 crores in the financial year 2015.
