With the Future Group holding 27 percent stake in the company, women’s wear brand Desi Belle from Re-Source World Exim is entering into expansion mode. The company plans to open EBOs in the next two years. “We have made a dent in this segment in the span of a year.

Six months ago, we were only in Central. Now we are in Reliance Trends and soon we will be in other leading large format stores. We also plan to roll out 10 to 15 EBOs in the next two years,” says Pushkar Goyal, COO, Re-Source World Exim elaborating on company’s retail expansion plans.

Flagship
to come up in Mumbai

“One of the EBOs will be a flagship and the others will be franchises. The flagship is being planned for Mumbai and will be spread over 700 square feet. We will expand our pan India footprint starting with metros followed by Tier II cities like Solapur, Sangli and Bhubaneshwar, where there is a lot of business potential,” he adds.

Brand Desi Belle is known for its Indo-western fusion range. “We will add one or two new products to our portfolio. In our category, we are one of the fastest growing brands. We use the best fabrics and have fine in-house designers,” states Goyal. With a rich experience in the retail industry and before that as an investment banker for many years, Goyal chose to be a part of India’s retail growth story. “I have been into retail and manufacturing of food, accessories, women’s garments.

Women’s wear, according to Goyal is challenging because fashion is evolving 24/7. “Lots of new players are coming in, vibrant colours, fabrics, patterns. We have more than 20,000 patterns in-house and plans to roll out another 20,000 in the next six months. But how many of these will actually make it to the floor is not sure. But it’s an interesting field. If you do something right you hit the jackpot,” he explains.
