Questioning people, about their commitment towards the environment, with their brand name ‘Do U Speak Green’, the organic clothing label from Fusion Clothing now plans to make headway into yoga clothing and recycled T-shirts. The brand also has aggressive plans to grow

 its e-commerce and international presence.


Explaining the concept behind Do U Speak Green, Shishir Goenka, Director, Fusion Clothing Company says, “When someone buys our products, not only do they sport clothes which do not contain harmful chemicals, but are also contributing to the environment in three ways. They are encouraging the growth of organic cotton which helps keep the land free of harmful chemicals and fertilizers. And 10 percent of our sales is directly contributed to WWF-India, which could help them undertake more conservation activities. And last but not the least they are indirectly helping farmers in higher realizations of money and keeping them healthy & debt free.”

Expanding organic portfolio

“The inspiration for Do U Speak Green came due to the absence of smart looking clothes for nature lovers and an absence of organic clothing in India. Most importantly, I have a passion for wildlife and helping preserve our natural environment. We have put up a video on our web store showing how the cultivation of conventional cotton is killing farmers,” explains Goenka.

The brand offers styles for men, women, kids and babies. The company uses organic cotton and bamboo fabrics with eco friendly dyes and water based prints. Talking about new product additions, Goenka says, “We will be continue our series of organic clothing but are looking towards the yoga wear, which is a growing segment globally. Recycled tees, is the next big concept in lifestyle clothing to hit India.”

Spreading global footprint

The brand is present in both offline and online models. “We have taken the MBO route and are present in close to 25-30 stores across India. Online, we are present on some of the top listed e-commerce portals and also in likeminded portals selling everything organic – both formats provide an equal share as of now – but we look at online market giving a bigger boost in the months to come,” avers Goenka.

As the company is growing within India, it is now looking at international markets. “We have appointed agents/distributors in the US, Germany, Australia and are looking at boosting these markets purely with our holistic range of yoga clothing,” he says, adding, “We are targeting a growth rate of 30 percent year-on-year, for the next three years.”
