Kazo the popular women’s fashion brand is working on a plan to increase its store presence in the country. As Deepak Aggarwal, Managing Director, Kazo Fashion, says, “We have eight stores in the pipeline. We do not commit on big numbers, and

look for good projects and locations like malls, high streets to open new stores. We also have expansion plans for Middle Eastern countries.” With a turnover of Rs 25 crores at the moment the women’s wear label is now targeting Rs 50 crores by 2013-14 with an annual growth rate of 20 to 30 percent.

The
brand is only present through EBOs in the country. On an average, the stores have an area of 800 to 900 square foot. “The size of the store depends on our feasibility or what kind of merchandise we carry. For the current store size, the product quantity we produce is perfect. Even this year, we are not adding new products, which would need more carpet area,” states Aggarwal.

Planning to get into the fashion retail segment in 2006, the Kazo opened its first showroom in Delhi in 2007. Talking about the inspiration behind the brand, Aggarwal says, “The idea of Kazo came into being with the aim of amalgamating international trends and fashion at a value that would be affordable for today’s woman. I believe in a business, which is based on innovation and flexibility. It has been a dynamic experience with tremendous growth in retail, especially fashion in India, where people have gone beyond the extraordinary and set a completely new mark in the field.”

For Spring/Summer 2013, the brand has unveiled four themes. Nature & Romance: the collection has soft play of colors and flamboyance of silhouettes. The collection includes wide range of dresses, tunics, skirts, T-shirts and blouses with wooden beads and buttons embellishments in cotton, rayon and linen fabrics. Vibration: These are neon and bright pastels defining a playful look in explosive artwork, faceted geometrics and bold graphics. Industria: it takes inspiration from urban architecture that renews the aesthetics of suburban space and geometry, bringing a graphic look and aspect to the collection.
