Anticipating good growth from the forthcoming season, Klix a brand from house Vinita Synthetic is planning to unveil several new categories. From knitted lowers to organic clothing and accessories, the brand has decided to increase its product range. On the retail front too, the focus would be on launching

its own shopping website to cash in on the ecommerce wave.

Commenting on the challenges a retailer has to face, Ankur Gadia, Director, Vinita Synthetic, says, “If your brand doesn’t meet the requirements or is not

relevant it will be thrown out. Every season, the collection has to be impeccable. Competition is there and you always have to excel and perform better than the others. The biggest task is assembling the right team and giving consistent designs.”

New offering to hook customers

Klix has been a basic denim brand but is slowly incorporating fashion denim in its range. As Gadia says, “We have been a basic denim brand all this while. This season, we are coming up with fashion denims in latest fabrics. Fashion denims have unique styles, accessories, designs and cuts. We are also planning to introduce shorts, T-shirts, and shirts to complete the entire wardrobe for men,” avers Gadia.

Sighting demand for organic apparels, Klix is introducing a few organic products this season. Also knitted fabric that would usually go into T-shirts is being used to offer lowers. “We are sourcing new styles of accessories from abroad and are planning a new look and feel for Klix. We source fabrics from the best Indian mills. Sometimes we source garments and fabrics from abroad. The fabrics might have been there earlier. But to source them at our price and maintain the same quality was a big task and we were able to achieve that,” explains Gadia.

For Autumn/Winter, the brand is unveiling earthy colors like sand, neon blue, and khaki in denims. Pastel shades have been there for the last two seasons. The brand follows the festive, summer and holiday seasons because according to Gadia, for denims, there’s nothing like Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer. Denim remains in demand, anytime, anywhere.

E-shop on the cards

Having a strong presence through 70 shop-in-shops in the Middle East and 500 MBOs in India, the brand would tap into 800 MBOs in three years. The brand has a strong presence in the south. With e-shopping gaining ground the company now plans to launch its own website next month.

Clocking in 30 percent growth last year, Klix’s target is to push it up 40 to 50 percent next year. “We are looking at organic growth. In numbers, we want to grow by 40 to 50 percent a year for the next three years.” Klix has a new production facility at Boisar spread over 30,000 square foot and with a capacity of producing 60,000 denims a month. Also on the agenda is building another facility at Boisar spread over 60,000 square foot.
