A K Retail Inc, makers of the brand Maishaa, a brand of luxury home textiles, would soon be launching a high end 100 per cent cotton line with 1,000 thread count and mercerized finish. Arun Garg, President, A K Retail avers, “The feel and finish of the collection is as soft as silk.

We are also working on a new line of printed bed linen on 100 per cent cotton fabric and also on an exclusive line of furnishing fabrics using high tech yarns.” The company recently launched a limited edition line of bed linen set made with a blend of silk and cotton with a 1,500 thread count (done for the first time by any brand internationally in this composition). This was launched as a limited edition set in India and Thailand and would be rolled out internationally in September ’10.

Targeting the SEC A and A+ segments majorly in the metros Maishaa currently has four exclusive brand outlets ranging from 1,000 sq. ft. to 2,200 sq. ft. “We have also had a great success with non metros in states like UP, MP followed by Gujarat and Punjab. As of now, we are present in around 50 MBOs and large format stores.  We look to add another 20 this year,” explains Garg.

All Maishaa products are designed and manufactured in their partner facilities in Bangkok, Thailand. They have an integrated production facility spread across an area of 640,000 sq. mts. Right from yarn processing to stitching and packing all processes are done in-house using some of the best machines and technologies available. The company as of now exports to department stores in the Gulf as well as Greece. Talks are already on with a number of department stores in Europe and America.

With an aspiration to become India’s foremost luxury home fashion brand, Maishaa ensures impeccable quality and safety while manufacturing its products. “Most of our bed linen comes with anti-bacteria or sanitized effects. They are formaldehyde-free and our key micro fiber lines are wrinkle-free too. We do not do stain-repellent treatment to all fabrics. We do it only when the customer demands it. Most of our upholstery fabrics are water-repellent,” concludes Garg.
