Gupta H C Overseas, the Indian licensee and distributor for Miss Sixty, an Italian brand, is out with their monsoon collection. Aptly titled ‘Rainbow Collection’ the collection includes everything from clothes, shoes to accessories. Reflecting the need

of an unusual urban femininity the monsoon accessories collection flaunts a range of vibrant bags and belts with a fusion of cold metal reflexes and pastel leathers. In shoes there are strappy heels, uber hot flats and gladiators. Sanjeev Jain, Gupta Overseas (G-Plus Division), Miss Sixty elucidates, “No other brand in the world can beat Miss Sixty in terms of styles. We have introduced footwear in the Indian market keeping in mind Indian tastes. For instance, Miss Sixty is known for high heels and stilettos. But we have brought to India lots of flats and ballerinas, which are very popular because of two reasons -- the Indian physique, and the fact that Indian women walk a lot. Our bags are also different. They are primarily large bags with lots of metal work.”

The
brand is all set to launch its denim range this autumn/winter. This range will have 25 to 30 styles and will be available in eight fits. “Of course, there are challenges in terms of size because they are all pencil tight jeans and it will be difficult to have customers only for that kind of denim. We will do a survey, get a feedback and by spring/summer ’11 we should have products totally suited to Indian requirements. Basically, we want to bring about changes in phases. We do not want to dump on India whatever is happening in Europe or elsewhere,” explains Jain.

Moving beyond sunglasses and jewelry the brand will also venture into perfumes. Come August they will be out with about 22 fragrances. The brand is globally present in more than 90 countries with more than 60 flagship stores and more than 7,000 points of sale. In India as of now they have two exclusive outlets one in Delhi and the other in Mumbai. Their exclusive outlets are of 1,500 to 2,000 sq. ft. area. This year they plan to add two more stores one each in Delhi and Bangalore.

They have a shop-in-shop at Chennai which goes by the name of Language. Language is a MBO format. “We are present in other MBOs like Shoppers Stop. We are also opening our own MBOs, which will go by the name Monte Napo. These MBOs will be housing Miss Sixty, our own domestic brand called Enroute, and an Italian brand called White -- a men’s footwear brand. And then we have two premium children’s brands — Superfit, a Belgian brand and Stones and Bones, a European brand. The first Monte Napo store would be coming up either in June or July.”

Miss Sixty is looking at Rs 18 crores turnover by this financial year-end.
