For the fashion enthusiast women, the range adds both ethnicity and authenticity to the wardrobe. In the T-shirts category the latest collection comprises a variety of colors, style detailing and graphics and is further subdivided into sinker and pique T-shirts, all available in solid colors and bright auto stripes. Yet another category of collar T-shirts and polo T-shirts are also available. The collection also includes slim denims with new additions of purple, grey, deep red, pinks to the classics in the leg wear segment. Adding variety to the alpha collection spring/summer ’10 wardrobe, kurtis in block printed details are enriched with brocade and laces and designed in a variety of colors including green, mauves, blues, deep red , refined shades of wine and pink , and the all-time black and white.
Monte Carlo is recognized as a complete wardrobe brand for the fashion conscious family. It includes both winter wear and a range of summer wear. The upper segment brand presented by Monte Carlo is Canterbury which has a premium range of cardigans and pullovers and its price tag starts from Rs 2,000 and goes up to Rs 5,000. Canterbury has also introduced higher premium brand formal suits during this winter season. Jain opines, “Our customer is from the upper middle and premium segment, fashion conscious, high-profile with quality and image oriented, urban, semi-urban based. Since we have a complete range for summer and winter, our manufacturing capacity for summer is about 5,000 pieces per day and for winter roughly around 6,000 pieces per day. Our expansion plans are always on. Latest machines are regularly being imported to enhance the production and quality of the garment.”
The company has a base of around 1,000 leading MBOs and 110 EBOs. They plan to increase their EBOs to 150 by the end of the financial year 2010-11. “As we have already launched the Canterbury (premium woolen brand) men’s suits in this winter through our EBOs we are now planning to introduce summer T-shirts in the premium range under the same name,” Jain says. The current turnover of the company is Rs 650 crores for Monte Carlo which includes the sub brand Canterbury. As for retail growth, they are growing at 50 per cent every year.
