“NYCITI our brand for accessories was incepted on the philosophy of offering customers complete wardrobe solutions. They are just not seen as an add-on to the garment but a new product segment altogether. Accessories not only help enhance a garment but now have become a necessity. For instance, a free flowing dress looks better with a broad belt so the belt which was just see as an accessory some time back now helps the women complete the look of the garment and in fact makes it look better,” says Akhil Duggar Jain, Creative Director, Madame.Jain points out another consumer insight that they have observed and that is women now look forward to wearing bold neckpieces. They pair up a simple outfit with a chunky or bold neckpiece to enhance the overall look. “Our store has a huge space dedicated for accessories. We also promote our garments in a similar manner. For instance, if you see our ad campaigns, we use accessories as an integral part of our style for the models. Our accessories collection is always in sync of our latest collection. Currently bright colours and neons are in, so our accessories like bangles and jewelry are in a similar colour tones to match the apparel line,” shares Jain.
The company has also expanded its product range and added products like sling bags, chunky jewelry. “Other important product picking up in India is hair accessories. We have a wide collection to offer. Belts are also catching up. Being a tropical country sunshades are an important accessory for every woman. We offer sunshades in different colours and shapes,” says Jain.
The company recently added footwear to its portfolio as Jain explains, “We have also added footwear as a new category in our stores. It is also growing as women now are getting brand conscious about footwear and want to make a style statement while they walk. We look forward to adding fragrances and watches as a part of our portfolio.”
