“We are deemed to register an organic growth of 15-20 percent,” say optimistic Vikram and Rishi Chopra, Managing Directors, Rishi Fabrics (Raves), adding, “We will also expand in West Bengal and Assam from coming winters.” Now the brand is in

about 200 stores in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. The company has also got into online retailing for the past one year.

“We
are making just 10-15 percent basic and the rest is fashion. We have tuned ourselves for producing fashion from day one. Our infrastructure provides us the capability to produces any design we want. Our sourcing abilities are on time. Most of the art work like embroideries is done in-house. So if all this is planned in time there is no problem in supplying fashion at the right time to the market. The only thing we need to stress on is to educate the target audience,” explain the duo talking about the brand’s USP.

Raves makes casual wear like T-shirts, shirts, tops and dresses for men and women. The brand caters to men and women between 16 to 35 years of age-group. It started the business in 1995 with fabrics and launched the brand in 2005. “We use the best yarns and dyes. So there is no shrinkage or pilling or colour fading in the garment. Designs are contemporary and very appealing to the young. About 75 to 80 percent of the fabric is made in-house. The rest of the fabric is imported from Hong Kong and Taiwan,” sums up the duo. For the forthcoming winter season, Raves has come up with a high fashion range in polos where there is designing in the collar and cuffs. “We have given yarn dyed stripes. There is lot of neon colours which in the T-shirts range,” they say.
