Expecting the demand for women’s denim to double in the next year, Recap, a women’s denim brand is looking for a jump in booking next year. Opines Zubin Thakker, Director, Recap Sportswear, “While the slowdown is a reality, the sentiments are

bullish especially after a decent festive season.”

Now,
the brand is offering three more fits compared to last season and the colour palette too has expanded. Thakker explains, “We have also launched a new brand called Reveal Jeans, which caters to a slightly lesser price range. While we do accessories like bags, belts, caps etc, sporadically there is no firm plan of introducing a separate accessories line.”

Recap Sportswear was started in the year 1998 and after an in-depth market study the brand Recap was launched in 2000. The brand has gone from strength to strength in the last 10 years and it now has a pan India presence. “We supply to 20 states and almost 40 cities and nearly 1,500 MBOs. We supply to all major large format stores like Pantaloon Central, Globus, Biglife Ritu Wears, and more,” elaborates Thakker.

It also has a state of the art production unit on the outskirts of Mumbai, which houses production facility for denim wear, cottons, T-shirts, and embroidery units. The company also has dry process set-up and an in-house laundry. A designing team comprising of designers, merchandisers, visualisers assist in developing new products and styles throughout the year.

“The Recap range has something for everybody,” says Takker, adding, “The collection is subtle and not in your face fashion. It is therefore positioned for the discerning customer who would appreciate the quality that is the hallmark of any Recap product even if it costs more. We cater to the young Indian women from the age group 16 to 35 years. We also have a special range for plus sized women.”

The brand offers eight different fits in its jeans portfolio. The line includes capris, shorts-both in cotton and denim, pedal pushers, denim skirts, jackets along with a wide array of shirts and T- shirts and jeggings.
