“We are working on launching exclusive designer line in all kinds of weaves and blends and an exclusive luxury collection,” says Amit Jain, President, Shingora Textiles.

The
family-owned company, specializes in weaving and finishing of products crafted from the finest Australian Fine Merino; Mongolian Cashmere, Chinese silk, mercerized cotton and fine linen. “Founded in 1986, Shingora has come a long way from being a fledging enterprise that manufactured scarves and shawls to being the single biggest manufacturer and exporter of scarves, shawls and throws in India,” opines Jain.

An exclusive wedding collection in various fabrics and luxury Shingora, a very premium product in different weaves for the high end consumer is the highlight of this Autumn/Winter. As always the women’s collection is the highlight of S/S’14. “Lightweight cotton, luxurious linens and silk blends will form the core of the collection,” explains Jain, adding, “We have been regularly introducing new products and we believe in constant innovation which makes us the pioneers in our category.

Shingora makes shawls and stoles and is divided into three segments. “We have a brand called Tiara, which is an entry level brand which goes to hypermarkets. Then there is the core brand Shingora. At the core level we have licenses for Disney for the Indian subcontinent with scarves for men, women and children,” says Jain elaborates.

At the top level, is the brand’s international offering under the name Shingora. The company is in the process of rebranding itself. The line consists of cashmeres, silks and designer products.

“We are probably the only shawl manufacturer who has everything from handlooms to state of the art shuttle less looms in a single facility,” states Jain. Its sprawling 25,000 square meters unit employs a dedicated staff of 600, who blend traditional skills practiced for generations through handlooms with new age shuttleless looms with electronic jumbo jacquards. It is also home to a fully equipped in-house design studio.

All this ensures that Shingora has the flexibility to meet demand with high and low volume requirements while ensuring that custom designs are delivered to customers in the shortest possible time. A fully integrated processing house along with weaving facilities provides an unparalleled edge to the Shingora product line in India. It also has a separate sampling facility to provide samples for its customers.

They target fashion forward women. “We create a look that’s not too ethnic and not too western. So the Shingora woman does not wear shawls the traditional way. She wears it the way a western woman would wear it, with a western outfit,” Jain exclaims.

The brand enjoys a pan India presence through all formats of retail with major business being derived from MBOs and large formats.
