After blazing its way as a leading manufacturer of kids wear across India from 1983, Spark is now planning to concentrate on its export market and make a mark in Europe and the US. Already a trusted name in the Gulf and Far East countries,

the company will be concentrating on expanding its export markets over this year. In the domestic market alongside the leading Indian metros, Spark will also foray into smaller towns of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka with a wide product portfolio. This will include fashion and basic T-shirts, shirts, cargos, trousers, infant sets, trouser sets, textile sets, denim sets and two and three piece sets for infants and boys in the age group of 0 to 14 years.

Over the last year, the company expanded its manufacturing capabilities to meet the current demand, but now wants to consolidate its position in this competitive sector with a sound operations strategy and trendy designs that meet international standards at competitive prices. “Our summer 2011 collection will bring fresh trends with a lot of value additions to the garment in terms of accessories, embellishments, and fabric. This season’s trend is shifting to combinations of sequins and screen printing. So on our T-shirts will be guitars, dragons, flying birds, wings and characters in different colors as well as sequins in front and foils and flock prints in the background. These clothes aim to become a kid’s second skin as well as create his personality of being free, creative and unorthodox,” says Bharat Shah, Director of Spark.

With a variety of innovative designs and patterns at competitive pricing, capability to customize goods according customer demand as well as delivery of goods within a stipulated time has helped the company on its road to success. The Spark brand is available at most of the larger retail outlets in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. It is present in around 450 MBOs, fashion stores as well as retail stores across India which includes cities like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Udaipur, Kanpur, Jaipur, Cochin, Coimbatore and Calicut. The company also supplies to major LFS which are anchor stores and bring in walk-in customers.

“We are also concentrating on our advertising and promotional activities that play an important role in influencing the consumer. We showcase our dazzling fashion range through catalogues each season. While POP material and posters do their work at the point of purchase, small branding items like tags, labels, and packing boxes go a long way in establishing the brand in the consumer’s mind,” adds Rajesh Shah, Director at Spark. With meeting international quality standards of children’s garments at competitive pricing as trigger for its growth, Spark will be lighting up many more children’s faces across the world.
