Tibre plans it all, from EBOs to IPO

Tibre, a leading player in the premium ready-to-wear market for men, has plenty of things lined up this season. An eminent brand of Gangotri Textiles, Tibre is planning retail expansion, launching of new collections and venturing into new segments.

Also on the anvil is an IPO.

To begin with, Tibre will soon come up with 30 exclusive dobby designs in stunning shades for the pre-festive season. Predicting yarn dyed and prints to be the flavor of the season they are focusing on them for now. As Mayank Tibrewal, General Manager (Operations) at Tibre says, “For the autumn/winter season we will have 20 different fabric designs of various qualities. The names and shades in this collection are selected to match the seasonal theme.”

The brand already has products like ‘Astir’, a semi-formal trouser range that comes in four series with four interesting shades in each series. They are made with 100 per cent cotton dobbies with light and dark shades in bright tones. Then there is ‘Fanatic’, which is a slim fit semi formal range of trousers. They are 100 per cent cotton and PC yarn dyed dobbies and come in a wide variety of light and dark shades. ‘Majesty’ is the semi-formal trousers made out of richly textured fabric with cotton and PC blends. It comes out in contemporary, trim fit style, with light and dark shades in medium tone. ‘Frosty’ from Tibre are 100 per cent breathable semi-formal trousers with dobby designs. These trousers stand apart with their dark colorful shades.

Currently, the brand is present only in MBOs. Tibre has a retail presence in around 750 multi brand outlets. They also plan to launch EBOs in the next two years. The brand is looking to venture into T-shirts and will launch them by next year. Women’s wear is also in the pipeline and so are kids wear. Tibre has plans to expand into manufacturing of premium garments for kids. “This will position us as a complete garment manufacturer in the premium segment.” A key player in trousers segment, Tibre would like to establish itself as a complete wardrobe solution for men within the next three years.

Gangotri Textiles is a vertically integrated textile company with world-class in-house facilities from processing yarn to manufacture of finished garments. With the production unit located at Ponnandampalayam in Coimbatore, their current production is 1,500 pieces per day. However, the actual capacity is around 3,500-4,000 pieces per day.

In the future, Tibre wants to start e-retailing. And it also plans to come up with an IPO in the next two-three years. By the end of the financial year 2011, Tibre is expecting a turnover of Rs 20-30 crores and the overall group is expected to touch the figure of Rs 200 crores.
