UFO: Eyes expansion through own EBOs

UFO short for ‘Under Fourteen Only’ is looking at expanding its footprint across India. The brand catering to young adults (between 2-14 years) is a part of the Creative Group, which is already active in the retail market for the past seven years

with brands like Portico (home furnishing), 109° F, Fusion Beats, Ila and Morph. UFO is the latest offering by the company to capture the promising kids’ segment. As Abhishek Agarwal, Director, Creative Kidswear says, “Creative Group having an excellence and expertise in manufacturing for the last 40 years decided to leverage its abilities along with our design expertise to provide some great clothing for kids in the casual segment.”

The
brand started off with its own EBO in October 2011 and has added one more EBO in Bangalore. “We also have our presence in 15 MBOs of north and south in less than six months. Moving ahead, we would focus on increasing our distribution network and LFS apart from launching our own EBOs to reach out to every young adult in India and abroad,” Agarwal explains.

Commenting on how UFO was able to carve a niche within a short span, Agarwal adds, “Our growth has been steady and moderately aggressive as we do understand that it’s a marathon and aspire to make it a sustainable business model to create valuable products to the utmost customer satisfaction. We understand that the choice of a two year old is different from the choice of a 14-year-old, hence we make a unique range for 2-9 years and separate designs for 10-14 years.”

UFO provides a complete wardrobe, for boys and girls, which includes T-shirts, tops, shirts, dresses, denims, pants, cargo pants, shorts and skirts in bright colors and designs. “We only use 100 per cent cotton fabrics. We love playing with different techniques for value addition, for instance, in denims, it could come in the form of washes or it could simply be utmost stitch detailing on cargos,”Agarwal says.
