Renowned designer-duo Shantanu and Nikhil’s showcased their collection ‘To Die For’ at the ongoing Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 in New Delhi. The collection was an inspiration from the decadent renaissance period in its most contemporary form. As always, the collection was an ode to today’s women. Woman’s existence has been a source of inspiration for their creations. They ably infuse Indian culture with modern western sensibilities. Miss Universe Canada 2012, Sehar Biniaz was the show-stopper for the duo. The entire collection was a fusion of Catholic wedding amalgamated with Hindu bold prints in golden zardozi work. It had mainly catholic wedding gowns in white and heavy golden-bronze brocade work. The first round’s highlight was Mustard, golden and white color schemes

On the ramp they focused on a soft and beautiful brides who are very feminine and love to flaunt chic and contemporary fashion. The show started with soft pristine white ensembles like gowns, lehengas, mermaid dresses, anarkalis in dull gold floral embroidery work especially at the hems and borders. A long fitted dress with intricate gold embroidery and with wispy flowy tulle fabric was a real stunner. Another, one off shoulder gown in tulle and with embroidery in similar fashion was layered with a toga like style on one side.

Other USP of the collection were the peplum jackets with bundcollar and floor sweeping lehengas. Male models wore sherwanis with soft but intricate gold work with similar pattern embroidery at the pocket of the sherwani. Dhoti pants teamed with sherwanis were also a hit among the audience.
