Anju Modi’s theme for Blender's Pride Bangalore Fashion Week was Meera. It followed Meera’s journey – from that of a princess to a saint. The collection was surely a breather for the eyes. It glorified the magnificent architecture of royal Rajasthan palaces and even brought in a bit of Lord Krishna. Khadi being the main fabric, the line also featured Benaras, chiffon, silk and cotton. Soothing colors and fabrics surged with Modi’s whites and off whites with a dash of faded blue or pale lavender weaved a calm ambience. The garments, all Indian, were brilliantly crafted. There were long crushed kurtis, wraparound dresses, saris, funky banjaran tops, kaftans, waist coat like top, interesting dupattas, in cottons and voiles. The look was serene, bohemian; the beauty laid in the layering. Models wore sporting lehengas, salwars and sherwanis. The embellishments used for the collection were simple and neat. With actor Shriya Saran depicting Mira, the show was classic and elegant.
