The multi-layered stage looking like a Opera theatre saw model sashaying down in peplum dresses, polka dot shirt and trousers, flared skirts, jackets, short satin dresses, trench coats, ball gowns, dinner jackets and tuxedos in fabrics like satin and silk. Live jazz music played along as Soni’s models took to the ramp flaunting his designs.
‘La Dolce Vita’, in English meaning ‘The Sweet Life’and was a 1960 comedy-drama film written and directed by the critically acclaimed director Federico Fellini. The movie was a story of a passive journalist’s week in Rome, and his search for both happiness and love that will never come. It had won the Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival and the Oscar for Best Costumes.
On the same day, organisers of WIFW, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) launched a mobile application called ‘Style Stack’ to bring buyers, designers and fashion curators on the same platform.
