On the second day of Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers India Couture Week (ICW), Bollywood actresses Malaika Arora Khan and Nimrat Kaur walked the ramp wearing traditional Indian designs created by designer Rina Dhaka. The designer’s inspiration was the famous gota work of Rajasthan, which was evident in the new styles presented during the show.
She recreated magic with gota patti in tinsel sheers and lace. There was extensive use of intricate embroidery elements from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, rearranged in a layered, lace-like manner. Embroidery techniques like zardozi, kamdani, ari, lace and metallic gota were blended with tonal beading and soft embroidery to give a romantic feel to the collection.
The six-day fashion extravaganza will witness nine of the country’s top designers Anamika Khanna, Anju Modi, Gaurav Gupta, Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra, Monisha Jaising, Rina Dhaka, Rohit Bal and Varun Bahl showcasing their work. Organised by the FDCI, the Week celebrates India’s everlasting love for luxury and fine taste in high end couture .
