James Ferreira kicked off the recent India Resort Fashion Week in Goa on December 7 by showcasing a stunning collection of dresses fashioned from batik, color-blocking et al. His designs for SS13 were showcased in the pristine white lounge of the main show area with sunken first row sofas and back rows in dining style tables and chairs giving the venue, a resort-like feel. Ferreira’s collection was inspired from Africa’s 'Mosaic Cut', in a riot of colors like pink primrose, orange, leaf green, dust gold, electric blue, gold yellow and reds with shades of beige and whites.
His trademark women’s collection in white had asymmetrical tops paired with transparent skirts graduating to muted color batik leaf prints consisting of cowl, ruched, wrapped dresses in orange, purple, green, indigos, and beiges. His menswear collection consisted of trendy styles like Pakistani salwars and lungi's, shorts over pants as bottoms and transparent kurtas with asymmetrical hemlines and coat collars, then there were batik denims in brown-red, green-blue and grey-golden shades paired with solid transparent shirts.
