Gorgeous brides on the ramp

While Chitrangada turned into a gorgeous bride in heavy red lehenga designed with crystal for designer Suneet Varma, Esha Gupta looked like an idol of elegance in a red attire embellished with crystals flaunting an ensemble designed by Adarsh Gill. With a chunri flowing over her red and gold lehenga, Gill accessorized the look with diamonds adorning her neck.
Varma’s collection titled ‘The Golden Bracelet’ was inspired by the clothing of Ancient Rome, handmade lace with gentle drapes, and had roman traditional handmade accessories. The ramp was decorated in Roman style and was named ‘City of Pompeii’. One of the highlights of the show was Suneet's handmade jewellery - the metal headgear, twig-shaped necklaces and stacked spiral armlets. Even Togas, saris and lehengas were teamed with sheer coats of handmade lace in dull gold, silver and grey.
Gill’s collection, ‘Evolution’, was an ode to the modern woman. Classic bridal wear was given a contemporary twist using embellishments and embroideries of geometric patterns and floral motifs. From short cocktail dresses, evening gowns, jackets and bustiers to lehengas, saris and anarkalis, this collection had something for every city bride. With luxury and glamour at its best, both the collections were high on fashion quotient.
