Payal Jain launched her A/W 2012 couture collection, ‘Butterflies in my Heart’ at the poolside lawns of Hyatt Regency Delhi. “The collection stems from the depths of my heart, wrapped in warm fuzzy clouds, sprinkled with sunshine and woven into long, beautiful fairy tales.... My friend Ambika took me on this beautiful journey into the land of butterflies and I am still exploring its immense beauty and vastness,” says Jain commenting on her latest offering.

The collection has a vast canvas of techniques, textures, fabrics and hues. From pure ivory to burnt caramel, decadent burgundy, dark ink, rich navy, warm aborigine to ebony black. Delicate, gossamer laces are sculpted into immaculately styled jackets, sensual blouses, layered and wrapped sarongs, panelled and full circular skirts, long flowing capes, seductive dresses and magical ball gowns. The fabrics have been especially designed and created in translucent silk yarns, intertwined with metallic accents and lace trims. Luxurious silk taffetas, resplendent duchess satin, warm velvety charmeuse, dreamy georgette, milky crepe, translucent organza and exotic guipure laces are embellished with intricate cutwork, precious pearl and crystal embroidery, sequin sprinkling, feather detailing and floral appliqué surface texturization.

The show was attended by: Tarun Tahiliani, Rohit Bal, Tika Shatrujit Singh, Varun Bhal, Rajesh & Payal Pratap Singh, Ashish & Misha Soni, Rina Dhaka, and many others.

Seamlessly blending Indian recherché and craftsmanship with modern day western silhouettes, Jain’s name is synonymous with eternal style. An industry veteran with decades of experience, she prides herself on meticulously crafting every piece that she creates with intricate precision.
