Designer Payal Jain unveiling her Autumn/Winter 2013 collection titled ‘Âme’ on November 15 in New Delhi. The designs were inspired by the mystery of divine love, the myriad dimensions of the soul, and the magnificence of complete surrender.

Jain showcased floating ivory chiffons and milky georgettes, speckled with precious crystals and pearls in asymmetric layers and fluid, romantic silhouettes. Treatments were minimal, abstract and the silhouettes explored various horizons from east to west and from north to south. Fabrics, textures and weaves blended seamlessly together like the vast spectrum of human emotions – from love to passion, agony to ecstasy, pain, anger, heartbreak and infinite waves of joy, crashing upon the tender heart.

The collection was sculpted in shimmery embroideries and elaborate weaves, sensual silks, rustic motifs appliquéd in delicate laces, painstaking hand embroideries, brushed with a sprinkling of precious, crystals, pearls and glass beads. Models Carol Gracious, Rachel, Sonalika Sahay, Indrani Das Gupta, Nayanika Chatterjee, Krishna Somani walked the ramp on soulful live music by Kutle Khan (Coke Studio fame) and the ramp also witnessed graceful dance performance by Gilles Chuyen.
