Designer duo, Karan Johar and Varun Bahl, weaved their `Mediterranean dream’ on stage at the grand finale of the recent Van Heusen India Mens Week (VHIMW) 2011 held in New Delhi. The high point of the show was Katrina Kaif’s Derriere Extraordinaire! Kat strutted down the ramp in a short sequined jacket and a pair of fitted trousers looking stunning. With their show, Johar and Bahl brought together Mediterranean Magic and Bollywood: A vision of ‘Mediterranean chic’. The event was high on Bollywood with Imran Khan opening the show. Dressed in charcoal black jacket and a pair of white trousers, the enviable combination reflected spelled sensuality, luxury and high-class fashion. With plenty of ‘male cleavage’ on display, bright colors and white linens, the whiff of the Mediterranean breeze was quite obvious in the producer-designer duo's Spring/Summer 2012 collection. They played with the crushed look, bringing a grunge feel that spoke of youth and style. The color palette had lots of grey, denim blue, amber, mustard and pistachio. The result was a collection that breathed easy.

Their line had structured jackets off-set by slinky cowls and accessorized with slender belts wrapped around the shoulders in eccentric patterns. Layering was one of the prime elements of the collection that saw the presence of printed silk boxer shorts peeking out of mulmul trousers. In an attempt to recreate the resort-like atmosphere of the French coastline, a group of bare-chested men wearing boxer shorts with floral prints and bold geometrics, walked the ramp. Pullovers with baggy pockets, shoulder flaps attached to jackets with extended laces, crushed kurtas teamed with short length coats designed in shreds gave an unkempt yet stylish look to the overall attire. Bandhgalas designed in intricate patterns and varying in lengths, polka-dot jackets and single-buttoned coats lent variety to the line.
