Krishna Mehta, the designer best known for her labels K2 and Krishna Mehta is making a mark with her collection which has brought back chikan embroidery to the forefront. At the Lakme Fashion Week, her collection revisited women’s couture after 10 years, and stuck to its roots while keeping an eye on the future. It was full of colors of different hues like canary yellows, fiery reds and zesty purples. Free flowing lehengas teamed with structured jackets. The waistcoats in antique gold were commendable and so were the sequined dresses.

After fledgling the Indian fashion industry by storm with her menswear collection in 1989, Mehta established herself as one of India's leading designers. In 1991 she first introduced her Indo-western fusion line for women with her perfectly cut and impeccably finished lines. The label K2 was started in 1998 for ready-to-wear garments for women. The brands 'Krishna Mehta' and 'K2' are available in her franchisee store in Baroda, Ensemble in Mumbai and Delhi and across all 'Be' stores in India and Dubai.
