Mahima shines in Puri’s designs

Designers ravished the ramp with Indo-western, western and ethnic designs at the recently concluded Bangalore Fashion Week 2011. Designer, Pria Kataaria Puri, a savvy fashion designer with a wild streak running through her explorative style personality, is one of the original proponents of Indian 'Nouvelle Courteure'. At the BFW, she showcased a unique and amazing collection of resort wear. She set the stage on fire with her magnificent ensembles that comprised of luxurious kaftans, gowns, tunics and dresses. For Puri color and embroidery plays a significant role in all her collections. She uses lot of hand trappings in wool threads along with mirror work, shells, beads, embroidery etc. Her designs are modern in its form and Indian in its mode of expression. In her collection she used Italian fabrics and light weight silks that enable a woman to wear them at all seasons irrespective of the climate. The color palette was vibrant shades of white, green red and blue used in a very innovative manner. They rendered a magic which really took the audience to a fairy land. Former model and actress Mahima Chaudhary walked the ramp for Puri. She was dressed in a graceful and chic, black spectacular sari.
