Renowned designer Tarun Tahiliani brought the curtains down at the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week with his collection ‘Marriage, Mystic and Magic’. Actress and model Lisa Haydon was the showstopper for the evening. Known to imbibe traditional Indian drapes, textiles and techniques in a modern day style, providing a distinct international look, the designer created magic on the ramp.

The show kickstarted with a contemporary dance performance by the Attakkalari group after which models sashayed down the ramp in high neck long dresses teamed with a stole and culotte pants with a long tunic. The designer’s line included shimmery bustier teamed with a nude colour sari, fine tissue-like silhouettes draped with pyjamis, skimpy dresses, and long floor-grazing jackets over dresses. The men's collection saw dhotis and pathanis, teamed with kurtas and sharp cut jackets. Lisa Haydon donned a soft pastel embroidered lehenga by the designer.

Vibrant floral evening gowns, soft flowy printed fabrics teamed with a floral blouse, and a green shimmery long gown with attached frills had shades of shimmering gold in soft pastels and intricate workmanship. The traditional bridal range also saw anarkalis in hues of pistachio and green, intricate work pyjamis, sherwanis in silk with jackets, contrasting combination of beiges and reds combined with intricate embroidery. Whereas contemporary bridal range had applique and swarovski saris, bell sleeves with high collared and floral back blouses and long flowy anarkalis.

The last collection included bright red cascading gown, off-white sherwani in self thread work, heavy zari and zardosi work peach lehenga, sherwanis with a lot of heavy work, and even heavier royal lehengas. His show proved to be a finale show in a true sense.
