Ritu Beri casts her spell

Ritu Beri stole the show at the grand finale of the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week ‘Summer/Showers’ in Bangalore. With her 22 years of experience, Beri once again showed the world why no other designer can steal the thunder from her. The ramp turned into a beautiful golden garden with golden leaves spread all over. The collection, ‘Summerleas’, was presented with a modern take on traditional Indian attires. And keeping her love for rich brocades, jacquards, chiffon and georgettes, traditional embroidery with modern patterns, her collection was full of vibrant colours ranging from white, red, golden, yellow to metallics and black. The collection had a blend of kurtas, ghagras with elaborate odhinis and long flared as well as straight tunics over salwars and churidars.

While models like Aanchal and Lakshmi Rana walked the ramp, Bollywood actress Lisa Haydon was the showstopper. Ritu Beri, the first Indian designer to head a French fashion house, Scherrer, when many Indian designers were dreaming of entering the fashion scene of Paris has created a niche in the world of fashion with her years of experience and exclusive collections.
