Well-known actress Shama Sikander who turned fashion designer last year organised a Fashion Walk, to display her first set of gowns and dresses at The Laughing Cavali, Mumbai recently. The actress who was last seen in Yash Raj Films’ TV show, Seven, kept the event a low key affair since this was her maiden show. However, some well known celebrities like Shweta Bhardwaj, Smilie Suri, Pony Verma, Parull Chaudhry and Sayantani Ghosh were among the models that walked the ramp for her. Sikander says the line on display were the formal outfits that she had designed for the winter season. They include gowns and short dresses. The collection was designed keeping the season in mind.
Sikander who stepped into the fashion space in November last year now plans to display her spring/summer collection in the coming few months. The gowns on display ranged from the well fitted to flowy ones. The color palette was bright from midnight blue to reds, whites and blacks.
