Suneet Varma shines at IIFA

Designer Suneet Varma and Gitanjali Group enthralled the audiences with a spectacular grand finale fashion show at IIFA Rocks in Singpaore recently. Celebrating the brand’s strong association with Bollywood and the eight year long standing alliance with IIFA, the fashion show oozed glamour and glitz making this year’s IIFA weekend a memorable affair. Varma and Gitanjali teamed up to present “Envi by Gitanjali in association with Gemfields ‘The Eternal Lightness of Being’ by Suneet Varma.” The event also witnessed the launch of a new jewelry brand Envi in association with Gemfields.

Varma showcased his latest collection ‘The eternal lightness of being- to love, to hold, to kiss’ and celebrated his completion of 25 golden years in the industry. Over the years he has immortalized his passion for designing through his clothes and is one of India’s foremost couturiers. At IFFA Rocks, Varma’s show came alive with show stopper Bipasha Basu who walked the ramp in a stunning pink gown. The collection had an idyllic summer mood set off by soft hues, colorful prints, and languid silhouettes. Waves of crinkled chiffon, crushed georgette and organza created light caressing textures in refreshing yellows, somber pinks, limes and blues. Kimono tops matched with wide legged palazzo pants, a parade of delicate romantic dresses in floral jodhpuri print, flared skirts, draped dresses and short tops maintain the youthful experience. Tailored tunics and stylized saris in fine chiffons with soft hues in a multi colored palette tiptoe lightly into spring.
