After setting a mark in the fashion world with his exemplary designs, designer Tarun Tahiliani has entered the world of technology to design television sets along with Vu Technologies. The Tahiliani designed TV set is titled Vu-Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV and was unveiled at the Tarun Tahiliani Couture Exposition 2012 in New Delhi and Mumbai.

Through this first of its kind association between the designer and a technology provider, Vu Technologies wants to redefine the concept of luxury viewing experience for the discerning customer. Available in 55 inches dimension, the 3D ‘Vu-Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV’ with in-built PC has been designed with unusual ornamental patterns constructed through the use of calligraphy and geometry. The fine use of latticework in muted Swarovski elements lends a very subtle and stylish feel to the product. The ‘Vu-Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV’ is a luxurious lifestyle statement which is an object of desire that isn’t just functional but also a magnificent piece of art.

The Tarun Tahiliani Couture Exposition 2012, which is its fourth edition, is an extravagant affair. The four-day event (July 25-28) exhibits 60 beautifully crafted pieces against glass backdrop, celebrating style with luxury. Fusion of Indian and western techniques clubbed with Swarovski Elements, different weaves and jewels form the exquisite collection. Tahilini says, “I’m introducing the new couture collection which has many moods and is based on what people would wear to different functions. I can take you to lovely sections for cocktail, engagament, sangeet, mehendi or bridals. And of course, different people will choose different things that suit their moods.” On display are lehengas, saris, anarkalis and shararas for the bride, sherwanis, kurtas and dhotis for the groom.
