Selfridges London has re-opened its roof to launch The Big Rooftop Tea & Golf Party, as part of the Big British Bang, the department stores creative homage to all things British, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and the Olympics.

Opening today, the roof has been transformed into a Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory meets Alice in Wonderland hybrid featuring a 2,530 sq ft crazy golf course, which has been created in reference to the original Selfridges mini golf set up on the store’s roof back in the 1930’s.

The 9-hole golf course has been designed to look like a giant display of cakes, one for each hole, and each of them representing a famous London landmark from Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge.

The Big British Tea Party runs until September 2, and as well as taking in a round of crazy golf, customers can also enjoy the highest afternoon tea on Oxford Street with a roof-top cafe by Daylesford.
