Bringing fun and energy to this spring/summer, designer Rohit Mittal showcased his colorful collection, called “My wife’s imagination” at the recent Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. The designer who launched his own label in ‘Rohit Mittal’ in 2005 brought forth the ideas of a girl who weaves an imaginary world around her. Bringing her playfulness to the fore, the designer used everyday motifs and bright prints of gods and goddesses comic book characters and even the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in his clothes.
The collection has a mix of printed gypsy blouses, halter neck tops, multitier long dresses, sixties flare dresses, kaftans and tunics. Flowing dresses in dense embroideries of beads and sequins, and still were the highlight of this collection. But what made the clothes stand out and were the bright, bold prints that stood out stark on the runway.
The uniqueness of his label is his continuous innovative experimentation. There is a breath of freshness in his designs. Appreciated both in India and abroad Mittal recently presented his spring/summer collection 2010 at London Fashion Week.
