On day two of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, designer Malini Ramani known for creating resort wear, focused on Indian designs for her Autumn/Winter collection. Gold on black dominated the outfits with flashes of pink in between.

Titled ‘Glamourette’, her collection consisted of a wide range of saris apart from thigh-high slit, figure-hugging dresses. Models too flaunted an Indian look with big and bold bindis on forehead and winged eye make-up reminding of golden Bollywood era of actresses like Asha Parekh and Helen.

Ramani constantly tries to create excellence in the art and craft in her designs. Her gowns, caftans pantsuits, cocktail dresses and resort wear range are favourite among her patrons. Since her first collection, titled ‘Rockstar Meets Indian Princess’ in 2000, Ramani’s fashion journey has witnessed beautiful blend of the east and the west. A seamless fusion of effortless chic and high-octane glamour, and a playful juxtaposition of ‘bling’ and elegance ooze out of the luxurious fabrics she uses to create ensembles.
