Crocs decides to go solo in India

US-based shoe brand Crocs, known for its colourful rubber clogs across the world, has decided to go alone in India. The company has pulled out of its exclusive franchising agreement with Chogori Retail and will now open around 60 new stores with franchises.

Recently, as a part of its retail expansion strategy, Crocs India had announced plans to cross the 100 stores mark by partnering with local franchises in Tier II and Tier III cities. This year, Crocs is eyeing multi-channel retail strategy including launch of an e-commerce platform to expand footprint across India.

Crocs launched in India in 2007 and also plans to focus on marketing activities like on ground activations and digital marketing and expansion of Stock Keeping Units (SKUs). To change its image as the monsoon brand, Crocs, introduced its 350-odd designs from its global portfolio such as lace-up sneakers, hover boots and cobbler stud ankle boots in India last year.
