Craftsvilla, a leading e-commerce site, announced that it had appointed Manish Kalra as its chief business officer. He will be responsible for critical growth functions such as marketing, product, supply, category management and merchandising. He was earlier with Amazon India, where as director of integrated marketing he was responsible for overall marketing and building key Amazon brands such as Amazon.in, Junglee.com and Kindle in India.
Prior to Amazon, Kalra was with Make My Trip. In both his earlier designations, he played an active role in building consumer growth and scaling the businesses in these organisations using innovative and efficient marketing tools and building teams and processes from scratch. Kalra is excited about his new move. He pointed out that he is excited to join the company at ‘this stage in their journey of bringing Indian ethnic products and handicrafts closer to the Indian consumers.’ He believes the e-commerce venture has a huge opportunity in building a world class product and helping Indian sellers and small businesses.
Since its start four years ago, Craftsvilla has built an ethnic e-commerce marketplace with close to 25,000 artisans and designers across the country. A million customers are reached through its website and app.
