Fashion and design school Istituto Marangoni (IM) Firenze has announced a partnership with designer Luca Lin for the academic year 2023/2024, as per a news article on the school’s website.
Lin, who is the founder and creative director of Italian fashion label ACT N°1 will take on the role of the fashion design programme at IM’s Florence campus. He will begin mentoring the students starting in the second semester of the current academic year.
Luca Lin founded his brand ACT N°1, known for its refined and contemporary aesthetic in Reggio Emilia in northern Italy in 2016.
In 2017, the label won the Italian edition of the Who Is On Next? competition for young fashion talent, promoted by AltaRoma and Vogue Italia.

The following year, the brand gained international recognition when Vogue America featured it on its list of the eight brands redefining contemporary fashion.
In 2022, Valentino's creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli selected the brand for the Support Young Designers project in collaboration with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. As part of the project, Valentino broadcast the ACT N°1 SS23 runway show live on its Instagram channel.
Commenting on the news in a statement, Luca Lin said: "With this mentorship, I hope to impart my personal approach but, above all, my values. A designer today must not only create a collection but also have an important message to communicate."
In a statement featured in a post by Istituto Marangoni Firenze on Instagram, he added: “I am glad that Istituto Marangoni contacted me for this project because I strongly believe in the potential of young people today, in having exchange of views about work. As a teacher, I hope to share my personal working method and above all my values with the younger generations.”
