Reliance Retail names Jeyandran Venugopal as president & CEO

Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL), the holding company for India's foremost retailer, Reliance Retail, has announced the appointment of Jeyandran Venugopal as its new president & CEO.

Venugopal, a former Flipkart executive, brings 25 years of extensive global experience in retail, e-commerce, technology, and business transformation. His mandate will be to fortify the retail portfolio, expedite omnichannel expansion, and champion technical and operational excellence across the entire Reliance Retail value chain. In his new capacity, he will collaborate directly with executive director Isha Ambani and the Reliance Retail leadership team, with oversight from Mukesh Ambani and Manoj Modi.

Prior to this role, Venugopal served as the chief product and technology officer (CPTO) at Walmart-owned Flipkart, where he steered major cross-functional teams in product, engineering, data science, and IT. His background also includes senior leadership tenures at Amazon Web Services and Yahoo, where he was instrumental in developing and scaling global technology and commerce platforms, demonstrating a strong track record in managing multi-billion-dollar digital retail ecosystems.

Reliance Retail reported a consolidated turnover of Rs 3.30 lakh crore for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025.
