Seema Chawla of Mattel Toys joins Reliance Retail as CMO

Reliance Retail has a new member in the team. Seema Chawla, head marketing, Mattel Toys, has moved on to Reliance Retail as chief marketing officer, e-commerce lifestyle and fashion segment. She was with Mattel Toys for 11 months before switching.

At Mattel, Chawla was responsible for the health and growth of brands like Fisher-Price, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Mega Bloks, Thomas and Friends, Scrabble and Uno. Shae has over 16 years of experience and worked earlier with The Walt Disney Company, DDB Mudra and Percept H. She has a strong experience in the media and advertising business in varied roles including brand management, promotion specialist, client servicing and planning. Chawla has a good understanding of the Indian consumer and knows the importance of integrated marketing.

Chawla joined as an account executive at Percept H in 1999. Later in 2000 she moved to DDB Mudra Communications. After four years she moved to The Walt Disney Company as assistant manager marketing, Toon Disney. Later she was elevated to manager, brand solutions and worked till 2010. She later became senior manager, brand solutions, Disney India Media Solutions and Alliances. In 2012, she rose to become associate director (head) brand solutions, Disney UTV Media Networks and Disney Integrated Sales. After two years, she was promoted to director, brand solutions group, DisneyMedia+ and Disney Media Networks.
