Manohar Kamath from Shoppers Stop has joined Myntra where he will lead the fashion category. He has had experience of retailing brands for two and a half decades. Kamath was the chief operating officer of Crossword and Nuance. Kamath replaces Abhishek Verma at Myntra.

Myntra is looking to build a combined omni-channel strategy that includes both online and offline services. Private labels are a key part of Myntra’s omni-channel strategy as it plans to open the first store in the next three months under one of these brands. Private labels account for 20 percent of Myntra’s sales. And Myntra plans to bring the share of these brands to 30 percent by the end of the current financial year as it also targets profitability. Myntra has consolidated its leadership in the online fashion retail space, with the acquisition of main rival Jabong. Along with parent company Flipkart and Jabong, Myntra controls 70 percent of the online fashion retail market in India and will be looking at using Kamath's experience and capabilities to strengthen and expand its offerings in the coming months.
