Ahakzai Boutique opens store in Kuala Lumpur

Ahakzai Boutique, owned by designer Ashley Rebello and Salman Khan’s sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, has now opened their first store in Malaysia with local partner Anju Menon. Bollywood fashion lovers now have the chance to buy designer material from Rebello, a celebrated fashion designer who has clothed the likes of Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan and Malaika Arora Khan.

The outlet, the first store outside India and the second for the brand, was recently launched by actress Waluscha De Souza and Rebello. Menon stated the idea spurred from the compliments she received after sporting some of Rebello’s designs purchased from the Mumbai store and so she decided to get in touch with Rebello. After months of hard work, she succeeded in bringing the brand into Malaysia and has even made it a point to price it on par with the price point in India, if not cheaper. Rebello, stated they first opened the store three years ago and named the brand after Salman Khan’s father’s native Afghanistani tribe.

Talking about the collection, Rebello says they offer a well-priced range of outfits that are ready to wear, including formal wear. The current trend in India is prints like Jaipuri, crepes, silks and zardozi embroidery with dull work as well chiffons and pastels. All these have been incorporated in the new collection available in the Mont Kiara store too.
